Coronavirus Updates and Resources to Use at Home

The Ackland Art Museum closed in mid-March due to the pandemic, and we are getting ready to reopen at reduced capacity this fall. There is a construction project underway on our terrace which will make our outdoor gallery space more accessible and allow us to display a wider range of art in front of the Museum. As soon as construction wraps up, we will welcome you back. Watch our website, sign up for our e-news, and follow our social channels for more details! In the meantime, you can connect with us virtually. See you soon!

The Ackland Art Museum continues to closely monitor the spread of coronavirus COVID-19. As a unit of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, we follow the University’s guidelines for monitoring and safety.

This is a developing situation, and we will update this page as often as possible. Thank you for your understanding and support. If you have questions about the Museum’s operations or event cancellations, please email
