On view at the Ackland is an impressive selection of over 260 works from its extensive permanent collection. Five galleries showcase The Western Tradition, with art of the Ancient Mediterranean world to twentieth-century European and American art.

The Museum’s significant holdings of Asian art are presented in the gallery Color Across Asia.

A gallery of African Art completes the current overview.

Object Guides to the collection, describing in detail each work of art on view, are available in each gallery, as well as online.

Please note that some galleries will be closed for periods between October 8, 2018, and November 30, 2018, as we prepare for the overall re-installation of the permanent collection set to open on December 1, 2018.
