At the Ackland Art Museum, an opportunity has just arisen for a UNC-Chapel Hill graduate student to work in our Communications department. The position would closely resemble a top-up award; it would involve five hours per week of work during the academic year, and $3750 in total pay. It would be an excellent opportunity for grad students who are interested in careers in museums, arts administration, or the arts and culture sector. Training and mentoring will be provided, but some experience would be advantageous.

Principal duties include:

  • Assistance with maintaining a content calendar
  • Producing content for social media with a focus on Instagram
  • Resizing images in Adobe Photoshop
  • Copy editing and proofreading
  • Assistance with email marketing

To apply, students should submit to acklandlearn@unc.edu:

  • One-page letter of interest
  • Current CV with names of two references who can attest to writing abilities

Please submit application materials by 5:00 pm on Friday, August 18.
